Mississippi combines a dedicated and productive labor force with a sophisticated workforce training system, allowing our state’s workers to adapt to the requirements of both existing and new companies entering the state.
The Mississippi Works Training Fund supplements the existing workforce training system with direct funds for customizable, industry-specific training programs for new and expanding businesses across the state. The funds are administered by the Mississippi Development Authority as a part of industry recruitment and expansion efforts.
Nearly all of Cooperative Energy’s service territory are certified ACT WorkReady Communities. This designation empowers counties and states with process, data, and tools deployed in a common workforce development framework to drive economic growth.
The common criteria are based upon the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate and business engagement to create a community-based workforce development process that links, aligns, and matches the county’s workforce development efforts to the needs of business and industry.
